Part I: Concerning The Dumbass

Imagine, if you will, approaching any given random person on the street and directly insulting their appearance. What reaction would you expect? Would you expect to be invited around for a cup of tea or perhaps thanked for your constructive criticism? I would wager most people would expect the complete opposite. I myself would take great care to explain to them the value of their unsolicited criticism: absolutely fuck all. I might even go so far as to extend a middle finger if the offense warranted it.

If you are the type of person that would be surprised that your critique was about as well received as a plate full of warm shit on toast then you might well be Thrash Cardiom. Thrash Cardiom is a middle-aged pseudointellectual with a penchant for indulging in ego autofellatio, often going into great detail about the mundane life he lives. This could not be better evidenced than by a blog in which he dedicates paragraphs upon pargraphs to superflous detail in an effort to seem momentarily interesting to his pseudointellectual, neckbearded clique. I have included a link to his official website, and to his blog, for your amusement.

Part II: Concerning The Incident

Our story begins on the 14th of July 2007 with the uploading of this video:

It's not hard to imagine that making a video insulting an entire town and then posting a video of yourself doing it to a publically accessible website - one of the most popular websites in the entire world - might make a few people a little angry. I would like to state plainly, for the record, that I am personally against physical threat. I think that anyone involved in threatening Thrash Cardiom is just as thick as he is.

People vented, got angry, got violent and generally just behaved as if their hometown had been rubbished by some bearded dumbass on the internet. While his face may be framed with a beard his existence in general seems to be framed by the "Huntly" incident; the responses he received to the video on YouTube linked above with a trifling 4500 views at the time of writing. His personal website exists solely to justify his unwarranted self importance and victim mentality, with his about "Thrash Cardiom" page making reference to the Huntly incident in 3 of its 5 sections.

Part III: Concerning The Obvious

Quoting from his YouTube channel: "I have received close to 100 comments on the Huntly video, most of which were composed of abuse accompanied by physical threats. Oddly enough, many of them proclaimed how offended the writer was and then proceeded to tell me how ugly I am. This amuses me as all it really does is confirm to me just how ugly a place Huntly is. In fact, the attitudes of its denizens are far uglier than the actual look of the town. (By the way, these comments will be deleted as have all the other abusive comments)."

Let me see if I have this straight:

• Make a video insulting an entire town on a publically accessible website.
• People get angry and behave as such.
• Be surprised.

It must be hard to nail yourself to the cross when you are the one doing all the hammering. Excuse me if I don't weep for you.

I must admit his woefully ironic website title, Versimilitude, and byline (which paraphrases the meaning of Verisimilitude) were kind of inspiring. I would like to offer an unsolicited opinion of my own:

Ineptitude: having no qualities that would render it valuable or useful.

That's right, Thrash Cardiom; I just called you on your bullshit.
